Investment Criteria

Acquisition opportunities can either represent an initial investment in a new business or a complementary acquisition to one of our existing platforms. If the opportunity represents an investment in a new business, we seek the following criteria:

  • Market Focus

    Lower-middle market businesses with $500 thousand – $20 million in revenue.

  • Transaction Type

    Both majority and minority equity investments in the form of common or preferred stock and/or convertible notes. GCP will consider mezzanine debt and other structures on an opportunistic basis.

  • Industry Focus

    Greenleaf will consider all opportunities, with a preference for businesses within the BCSP and TIC industries.

  • Geography

    GCP considers BCSP and TIC opportunities on a nationwide basis. For opportunities outside of these industries, GCP has a preference for Midwest-based companies.

  • Management

    Within the BCSP and TIC industries, Greenleaf provides owners flexibility to continue, exit, or reduce their workload. For opportunities outside of these industries, Greenleaf seeks to partner with passionate, proficient managers who intend to continue after closing.
