ATIS Elevator Inspections (“ATIS Elevator”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Testing & Inspection Services (“ATIS”), is pleased to announce J.A. Marchack has joined the firm as President and CEO.
ATIS currently performs safety inspections and test witnessing for elevators, escalators, and other conveyances as required by Authority Having Jurisdictions. Since its launch in January 2013, ATIS has grown to over thirty employees and is performing inspections in over sixteen states. With plans to more than triple in size within two years, the company is looking to hire Qualified Elevator Inspectors and is pursuing several acquisitions to expand its geographic footprint.
“J.A.’s reputation in the elevator inspection industry has grown to iconic proportions over a forty-year career, and we could not be more pleased that he has decided to take the helm at ATIS Elevator,” said Chip Smith, Chairman and CEO of ATIS, the parent company of ATIS Elevator. “We have been successful in quickly building a national footprint, and J.A.’s leadership will be invaluable as we continue this growth and establish ATIS as the premier inspection agency.”
J.A. started his career with Chenoweth-Kern Elevator Service in 1971, which was acquired by Montgomery Elevator in 1981. In 1983, he joined National Elevator Inspection Services, where he served as President from 1989 to 2012. During his career, J.A. built the largest elevator inspection business and played an instrumental role in developing many of the country’s third-party inspection systems. J.A. has served on several elevator safety boards, and he currently sits on the Missouri and Georgia advisory boards.
“ATIS Elevator has quickly established a reputation for providing exceptional service and an unparalleled working environment,” said Marchack. “I am excited to help develop and execute the company’s strategy to grow its elevator inspection business and help expand the third-party inspection market.”
“Attracting someone like J.A. to our organization speaks volumes about the quality of our team and the merit of our strategy,” said Colin Smith, President and COO of ATIS Elevator’s parent company. “In addition to accelerating growth at ATIS Elevator, having J.A. on board will enable us to get more aggressive with ATIS’s strategy to expand into new service verticals within the broader testing, inspection and certification industry.”
